Additional Information
On Sunday 13th June 7:30pm at the Civic Hall, Stratford upon Avon, the Rudolf Kempe Centenary Memorial Concert will be given by a unique cast of leading members of UK and Continental Orchestras associated with Kempe: The Royal Philharmonic, BBC and Royal Opera House Orchestras, the Munich Philharmonic and Bavarian State Opera Orchestras, the Zurich Tonhalle Orchestra and the Dresden Staatskapelle.
These musicians are coming together to perform music by the composers closest to the conductor whom they revere to this day. The music will be interwoven with a biographical narrative devised by Cordula Kempe and read by actors Jeffery Dench and Alex Jennings. It will take you on a journey from Bach via Mozart and Shubert to Bruckner, Mahler, Shostakovich and Richard Strauss, culminating in a special Kempe favourite by Lehar – thus catering for every musical taste and reflecting Kempe’s own repertoire.
Tickets are available from the the Civic Hall Box Office, 14 Rother Street, Stratford upon Avon, Warwickshire CV37 6LU
