In its ongoing series Celebration of Young Voices - in Association with the Royal Academy of Music
The Society welcomes an outstandingly talented young tenor, KIERAN CARREL, with his pianist partner ZUZANNA BASINSKA for a Lieder recital of songs from J.S. BACH to GUSTAV MAHLER.
Kieran – of German-English extraction – studied in Cologne with the renowned German tenor Christoph Prégardien, one of today’s finest Lieder interpreters, before continuing his studies in London with distinguished Scottish tenor Neil Mackie at the Royal Academy of Music.
Aged only 21, Kieran is already in demand internationally in both opera and oratorio, but his preferred genre is the Lied.
Under the title Thoughts Beyond Here and Now he has devised a programme that is appropriate to the season, full of rich autumn colours, made up by some of the most beautiful poems which the greatest Lied composers – Schumann, Schubert, Mozart, Brahms, Wolf and Mahler - have set to music. A rare treat!
Tickets are available from the Box Office of the Artshouse, Stratford-upon-Avon, Phone 01789 – 207 100, or online form www.rudolfkempesociety.org.
